When people first meet me, they’re often surprised to learn that I’m both a full-time healthcare worker and a professional boudoir photographer in Annapolis. At first glance, the two careers may seem worlds apart, but at the heart of both is the same passion: helping women feel seen, valued, and empowered.

My love for photography started unexpectedly when my husband gifted me a digital camera before a trip to Scotland. What was meant to be a way to capture travel memories quickly grew into something more. I devoured online classes, books, You Tube tutorials and practiced endlessly — falling deeper in love with the art of photography with every click of the shutter.

But my journey into boudoir photography began in a much more personal way.

For my husband’s 40th birthday, I booked a boudoir photoshoot as a surprise gift for him. I thought it would be a fun and unique present, but what I didn’t expect was just how transformative the experience would be for me. From the excitement of getting glammed up to the empowering feeling of posing for the camera, I left that session feeling more confident, sexy, and celebrated than I had in years.  I had struggled with body images issues my entire life, but seeing myself in a different light really unlocked my confidence and allowed me to appreciate my body as it was.

A short time later, I referred a friend to the same photographer, but she confided that she felt too nervous to take such intimate photos with a stranger. Without really thinking, I offered to photograph her myself. We had so much fun during her session, and when she saw her images, her face lit up in a way I’ll never forget. That moment — seeing her confidence unlocked and reflected back at her — was when I knew I had found my calling.

Since then, boudoir photography has become one of the most fulfilling parts of my life. Each session is about so much more than beautiful images; it’s about creating an empowering, safe space where women can celebrate their beauty, strength, and sensuality exactly as they are — no changes required.

Today, as a boudoir photographer serving the women of Annapolis and the surrounding areas, I combine my background in healthcare with my passion for photography to serve women in a meaningful way. Helping my clients step into their power, embrace self-love, and walk away feeling more confident than ever is what keeps me hooked, session after session.

If you’ve ever thought about booking a boudoir session, but felt nervous or unsure, I want you to know: you are not alone. And you absolutely deserve this experience.

XOXO,

Laura
